Fabric!! with the Big Shot!!

 

 "Rag" Bag!!  made using the SU! scallop square bigz clear die and some fabric.  Fun and easy!! Quick too!!

I cut 38 fabric squares -  doing 8 at a time (yes 8!) - with the Scallop Square die and my Big Shot machine.  Then I cut 19 squares of batting -- approx 3 1/2 inches (next time 3 inches will be good enough).  Then I took two squares, and put one batting between and stitched from corner to corner -- that made the "X" in the square.  Next, I stitched three squares together (top row) , three more (bottom row) three more (bottom of bag) three more (top of other side) and three more (bottom of other side).  Then I stitched the two side squares together and attached to the bottom row of three.  So now I had four rows of three squared and one row of 7 squares.  I stitched the top and bottom rows of each side together and stitched the bottom row to the bottom section.  Then up the sides.  Now I just had the top left.  Before I stitched around it, I measured off about 24 inches of our 1" double stitched grosgrain  Chocolate Chip ribbon (twice - for two handles)  Stuck the two ends into the end squares and stitched a couple stitches to hold them in place.  I used  the Melon Mambo 1/2" polka-dot grosgrain ribbon for a fastener - folded in half with a "V" in the middle and stitched across the "V" to hold it in place - then tucked the ends in the middle square with a couple stitches to hold it in place.  Then I stitched around the whole top.  Next to last came the most time consuming part -- I went around the whole purse and made a slit in all the scallops -- using a sharp scissors and being careful not to cut my stitching.  Lastly, I washed the bag to fray the edges!  Oh, almost forgot --  I added a button to close the bag - a big one that I took out of my Grandma's button tin!   Make a pink (melon mambo) pin to hang on it so there would be some more pink.  Love it, love it!!  Fun and easy.  If you would like to order the supplies to make one (or several!) yourself, email me.  This is a great time to order cuz you can get FREE stuff during Sale-a-Bration!!

Wow, it's almost the middle of December already -- and I don't have my cards done!  Here's a fairly simple card sample, using designer series paper (love the red flocked paper) and the snowflake window sheets (hard to see on here).  I did use my stamp-a-ma-jig to get the words in the window area - but that is super easy to use too. Tye on some ribbon and you're all set!

Happy Thanksgiving!  I just had to use the sweet treat cups to make turkeys for my grandaughters - but someone who will remain nameless (but his initials are "Jim Cook") got into the candy!  Lucky for him the cups really only fit one candy !  I used my two oval punches to make the feathers, cut out a couple circles with my coluzzle to make the body and drew in some legs.  Oh, and wiggly eyes to finish them off.  Nothing spectacular but just a fun card for the girls.  Slot punch and modern label punch for the greeting and the only stamping was the Happy Thanksgiving from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  Hopefully they have gotten them already so they don't accidentally see them here first!! 

Just wanted to post a heads-up to my many followers (all two of you!!) :)  I am getting some work done on my computer so probably won't be posting for a week or two til it's all done and I have figured out how to work it all!  In the meantime, I hope to do a bunch of stampin' so I'll have some samples to share. 

Christmas Card Stamp-a-Stack

Here are the cards for my Christmas Stamp--a--Stack on Nov 15 & 16. You will make three of each. The Season of Simple Grace card would be a great photo card too.
